Institut Africain de la Gouvernance (IAG): L’initiative pour la création de l’Institut Africain de la Gouvernance (IAG) est née en 2003 des discussions entre le Président de la Commission de l’Union africaine et le Directeur régional pour l’Afrique du Programme des Nations unies pour le développement (PNUD). L’idée maîtresse était de créer un centre d’excellence reconnu par l’Union Africaine, responsable de la conduite d’une recherche d’avant-garde sur toutes les formes de gouvernance, et contribuant à l’avancement de la gouvernance démocratique en Afrique. African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD): The African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD) is a South African-based civil society organisation working throughout Africa to bring creative African solutions to the challenges posed by conflict on the continent. ACCORD’s primary aim is to influence political developments by bringing conflict resolution, dialogue and institutional development to the forefront as an alternative to armed violence and protracted conflict. ACCORD specialises in conflict management, analysis and prevention and intervenes in conflicts through mediation, negotiation, training, research and conflict analysis.

Centre for Democratic Development Ghana (CDD-Ghana): CDD-Ghana is an independent, nonpartisan and nonprofit research-based and policy-oriented think tank in Accra, Ghana. Founded in 1998, it is dedicated to the promotion of democracy, good governance and the development of a liberal political and economic environment in Ghana in particular and Africa in general. In so doing, CDD-Ghana seeks to enhance the democratic content of public policy and to advance the cause of constitutionalism, individual liberty, the rule of law, and integrity in public life. Institute for Security Studies (ISS): The Institute for Security Studies (ISS) was originally established as the Institute for Defence Policy by Dr Jakkie Cilliers, and Mr PB Mertz in 1991 and has offices in Pretoria, Cape Town, Nairobi and Addis Ababa. The ISS is a regional research institute operating across sub-Saharan Africa. It is registered as a non-profit trust in South Africa, a research association in Ethiopia and as a company limited by guarantee with no share capital in Kenya. Voir le site
Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA): The Media Institute of Southern Africa is a non-governmental organisation with members in 11 of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) countries. Officially launched in September 1992, MISA focuses primarily on the need to promote free, independent and pluralistic media , as envisaged in the 1991 Windhoek Declaration. MISA seeks ways in which to promote the free flow of information and co-operation between media workers, as a principal means of nurturing democracy and human rights in Africa The role of MISA is primarily one of a coordinator, facilitator and communicator, and for this reason MISA aims to work together with all like-minded organisations and individuals to achieve a genuinely free and pluralistic media in southern Africa. Pouvoir et politique en Afrique: Pouvoir et politique en Afrique » est un programme quinquennal de recherche et d’aide aux politiques publiques lancé en 2007. Financé par le Ministère britannique du développement international (DFID) et le conseil consultatif de Irish Aid, il réunit des centres de recherche et des groupes de réflexion en Afrique, en Europe et aux Etats-Unis.
